Domain lookups

The domain you enter is sent to the relevant public registry RDAP service so the requested record can be returned. For service administration, we store the normalized domain, the time it was most recently searched and its total search count. This is an aggregate per-domain record in the password-protected admin dashboard; we do not retain an individual search log or associate it with a visitor or IP address.

Aggregate analytics

The site counts daily page views, successful lookups, failed lookups, rate-limited requests and waitlist submissions. These totals contain an event name, page path, date and count. They do not contain the searched domain, a cookie identifier, a full IP address or a user profile. Domain search counts are stored separately as described above.

Google Analytics cookies

Domain Readout includes the Google tag on every page using measurement ID G-FS2M2TGZZR. It starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. Before you make a choice, Google may receive consent-state and cookieless measurement signals, but the site does not permit Google Analytics cookies. If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google may set first-party analytics cookies and process information such as the page visited, referral source, browser and device type, and approximate location. We keep advertising storage, personalisation signals and Google Signals disabled.

Analytics page locations are restricted to the site origin and page path. Search query strings, including searched domain names, are not sent to Google. Your choice is stored locally on your device. You can change it at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer; withdrawing permission also removes the site’s Google Analytics cookies where the browser permits it.

Abuse prevention

Requests are temporarily grouped by a one-way hash derived from the connecting IP address and the current rate-limit window. The raw address is not stored. The identifier changes each window and expired counters are deleted automatically.

Domain-alert waitlist

If you join the waitlist, Domain Readout stores your email address, the optional domain you provide, your consent and the sign-up time. This information is used only to contact you about early access to domain-change alerts. It is not sold or added to unrelated marketing lists. Future messages will include a way to opt out.

Registry data

Lookup results come from third-party registries and registrars. Those services apply their own privacy practices and may redact personal information. Domain Readout displays the returned record but does not attempt to reconstruct redacted fields.

Future changes

Accounts and active monitoring are not yet available. This notice will be updated before those features introduce additional account, notification or historical data.
